Character codes for HTML and Flash

Website ASCII, Unicode, hex, html and Flash codes

Character codes for html webpages
Copy and paste code for websites. Example: perhaps you want to add a copyright © to one of your HTML pages. From the chart below use © or ©. For Flash animation, use %A9 in the external "flash.txt". See highlighted green cells below for this example.

See also notes at the bottom of this page.

How to use the chart
Use the codes in the two HTML columns for special characters in HTML webpages or external ".js" files. Use the code in the "Flash" column below in external Flash files (flash.txt). The most commonly used codes are highlighted.

Note: Some codes shown in the chart may not work for all Flash based animation depending on the font face used. You may need to edit the Flash font face in the .fla source file. See language character sets.

flash.txt save option and "meta charset":
Other Option: In your flash.txt file, try saving the flash.txt as encoding type "UTF-8" to include special characters in the template Flash animation. For text in the HTML pages, you may instead want to change the template "meta charset". See language character sets.
