Setting up auto downloads in SDL, SDL2 and SDL3 templates

If your template folder includes a folder named "download" then you have an SDL or SDL2 style mp3 template model.

View SDL templates.

Notes: In all SDL style templates, the 2CO link, once a client is "returned" to the download page, is coded or "hidden". The Paypal return link will be visible to the client after purchase is completed. For a more secure option you can check out the Payloadz website and replace the Paypal template forms. Be sure to upload the included "robots.txt" to keep search engines out of the "download" folder.

SDL Type 3 Setup (SDL3)
(Mp3 templates with copyright 2010 and later)
This info is for the "SDL3" type models only. See the top of your template "help.html" to see if this is your model type. Your default "samples1.htm" will include purchase buttons for both individual and album mp3s. SDL3s include 4 "samples?.htm" pages, 4 "ALBUM-samples?.htm" pages, and 4 "NOFORMS-samples1.htm" pages.
  1. If you plan to sell individual mp3s, move the 4 "ALBUM-samples?.htm" pages and 4 "NOFORMS-samples1.htm" into the extras folder.
  2. If you plan to sell mp3 in album downloads (no singles), move the 4 "samples?.htm" pages and 4 "NOFORMS-samples1.htm" into the extras folder. Rename the 4 "ALBUM-samples?.htm" pages to "samples1.htm" though "samples4.htm".
  3. Setup Mp3 Downloads: If you are using the singles samples pages you will need to do all these steps. For the album pages you will skip the "SINGLES" only steps.
  4. SINGLES: Place your full length mp3 in the "download" folder, name it "song1-1.mp3".
  5. SINGLES: Right click the "song1-1.mp3" in the "download" folder and choose send to compressed (zipped) folder. This gives the option to download 2 ways in the HTML singles return page.
  6. SINGLES: Edit the "song1-1.htm" with your info and check this page to be sure it is what you want users to see when they are sent to the "return" download page after an mp3 single is purchased.
  7. SINGLES: Check both links in the "song1-1.htm".
  8. SINGLES: Make a copy of the "song1-1.htm", name it for the next mp3. Do the steps above again and edit the 2 download links in the "song?-?.htm" you have copied. You will edit the links "song1-1.zip" and "song1-1.mp3" with the next mp3 and zip file names.
  9. ALBUM: Zip up each group or "album" of your full length mp3 files and place them in your template "download" folder. Example: Zip up the 12 mp3s (or however many mp3s you have) you are selling from the "samples1.htm" page. Name the zip file "album-1.zip".
  10. ALBUM: Edit the "album-1.htm" with your info and check this page to be sure it is what you want users to see when they are sent to the "return" download page after an mp3 album is purchased.
  11. ALBUM: Make a copy of the "album-1.htm" for each mp3 group or "album" you are offering for sale. Name them for each zip file, -2 -3 -4 for the 4 "album-?.zip" files that are to be "returned" to from the order forms on the 4 template samples pages.
  12. ALBUM: Edit the link in each "album-1.htm" copy with the zip file link. EXAMPLE: Edit the link in the "album-2.htm" from "album-1.zip" to "album-2.zip".
  13. SINGLES & ALBUM: This is the "EDIT THE SOUND" step on your template "help.html". Place your short mp3 samples in the "samples" folder, name them as indicated on your help page.
  14. Create Form Code: SINGLES & ALBUM: See the automatic download form setup support page and do steps #1 through #3 on this page to edit the forms in each of your "samples1.htm" through "samples4.htm" pages. In the default "samples1.htm" page you will create code for a total of 26 forms. 12 Paypal singles, 12 2CO singles, 1 Paypal album, 1 2CO album.
  15. SINGLES & ALBUM: Do the steps above for each single mp3 or album. Be sure you check all links in each return HTML page in the "download" folder.

Return Paths:
The return paths you will setup in your 2CO and Paypal account will appear something like the following:

SINGLES: http://your-web-domain.com/download/song1-1.htm

ALBUM: http://your-web-domain.com/download/album-1.htm

TIP: When setting up the return links, it is recommended that you upload the "download" folder, open one web browser logged into your Paypal or 2CO account and one browser opened at the return link location so you can copy the address bar link to use when generating your forms. This is to insure that the return link is working properly.

SDL Type 2 Setup (SDL2)
(Mp3 templates with copyright 2008 and 2009)
This info is for the "SDL2" type models only. See the top of your template "help.html" to see if this is your model type. Your default "samples1.htm" will include only 2 purchase buttons. SDL2s include 4 "INDIVIDUAL-samples?.htm" pages.
  1. Zip up each group or "album" of your full length mp3 files and place them in your template "download" folder. Example: Zip up the 12 (or however many mp3s you have) mp3s you are selling from the "samples1.htm" page. Name the zip file "download-1.zip".
  2. Edit the "download-1.htm" with your info and check this page to be sure it is what you want users to see when they are sent to the "return" download page after a payment is completed.
  3. Make a copy of the "download-1.htm" for each mp3 group or "album" you are offering for sale. Name them for each zip file, -2 -3 -4 for the 4 "download-?.zip" files that are to be "returned" to from the forms on the 4 template samples pages.
  4. Edit the link in each "download-1.htm" copy with the zip file link. EXAMPLE: Edit the "download-1.zip" link in the "download-2.htm" to "download-2.zip".
  5. Now see the automatic download form setup support page and do steps #1 through #3 to edit the 2 forms in each of your "samples1.htm" through "samples4.htm" pages.

SDL Type 1 Setup (SDL)
(Mp3 templates with copyright 2007 and eariler)
This info is for the SDL-Dwayne and SDL-Aluminum models only. Your "samples1.htm" will include probably 24 purchase buttons. SDL type 1 models are for selling each mp3 individually.
  1. Zip up each of your full length mp3 files and place them in your template "download" folder.
  2. Edit the "download-1.htm" with your info and check this page to be sure it is what you want users to see when they are sent to the "return" download page after a payment is completed.
  3. Make a copy of the "download-1.htm" for each mp3 you are offering for sale. Name them for each zip file, -2 -3 -4 and so on.
  4. Edit the link in each "download-1.htm" copy with the zip file link. EXAMPLE: Edit the "download-1.zip" link in the "download-2.htm" to "download-2.zip".
  5. Now see the automatic download form setup support page and do steps #1 through #3 to edit each of the forms in your "samples1.htm" through "samples4.htm" pages.
