Support for web browser software

• Firefox Browser: ~41.0% of page accesses. This browser continues to rise at a steady rate of about 1% a month.
  
  
• Internet Explorer 7.x: ~27.0% of page accesses. It will likely continue to climb as users upgrade from older browsers.
  
  
• Internet Explorer 6.x: ~26.5% of page accesses. This version will likely continue to be used less in the future.
  
  
• Internet Explorer 5.x: ~0.5% of page accesses. Usage peaked at 82% in Aug 2001, then tumbled with the advent of IE6. It will likely continue to be used less in the future.
  
  
• Safari (Mac + PC): ~2.6% of page accesses. Stats may also include the Konqueror browser. This is the up and coming browser and should continue to rise in usage now that the PC version is available. This seems to be the fastest browser yet for a PC. Safari is also the browser software included on the iPod touch and iPhone hardware.
  
  
• Mozilla, Netscape 6+, etc.): ~0.5% of page accesses. This browser is dropping rapidly in usage now that it is no longer supported or being updated.
  
  
• Opera: ~1.7% of page accesses. This browser was at 1.2% in 2003 and continues to just sort of "hang in there".
  
  
• Netscape 4.x: ~?? of page accesses. This browser is not used enough to generate stats as of 2008.
  
  
• Internet Explorer 4.x: ~?? of page accesses. This browser is not used enough to generate stats as of 2008.
  
  
• Older Browsers: very few surfers use older versions of Internet Explorer, Opera, or Netscape; web designers can generally disregard them.
