Flash XML Changer Updates

Support updates for Flash animation in Allwebco templates

Update: jQuery Slideshow Add-on: The jQuery Cycle Slideshow application is available to download. This application can be used to replace the unlimited or single XML changer addon. See: jQuery Cycle slideshow for the the download.


Add-on: Unlimited & Single XML Changer UPDATE:
This Flash application includes .xml files with the template or add-on download.

Optional Static Image Solution: If you choose to not have animation on your website you can follow the steps below to make your XML changer a single static image,

In the "XML-Changer" folder edit the following variable to "no" in the "set?.js" or "XML-Changer.js" file to turn off the Flash. Your page will display a static image.

Note: This fix only works on versions that include a "FlashDetect.js" in the "XML-Changer" folder. Check for the "FlashDetect.js" before you start.

If you do not have a "FlashDetect.js" (2010 and older versions) replace the following code (or similar changer code you added) in your HTML page...

...with an image tag. The image indicated in this example, "image1.jpg" in the "set1" sub-folder in the "XML-Changer-UL" folder, is the first image in the Flash slideshow:

XML Changers Built Into Templates:

Affects These Templates: Chicago, New York, Exhibition White, Exhibition Black, C07, C08 and C09 Studio, SDL-Aluminum, SDL-Dwayne, Blue, Layla and The XML Changer Add-on in Chrome drop menu templates. Select one of the 2 optional fixes below.

Optional Turn Off Flash Fix #1: In either the "flash" or the "XML-Changer" folder edit the following variable to "no" in the "changer-XML.js" file to turn off the Flash. Your page will display a static image.

Option #2 Flash Update Fix: Below are downloads for new .swf files for the above listed templates. The update changes the Flash to display only 8 images. More images can only be added by using Flash software with the included .fla file.

You will not need to create or edit any new .jpg images. With the updates below, as long as you had 8 or more images setup in the changer, you only need to copy over the files in the zip file and your Flash will update. See also "Notes:" at the bottom of this page.


Chrome / Executive Drop Menu Templates (Custom XML Changer Add-on)
Download Update (.zip)
In the "XMLChanger" folder, delete the "XMLChanger.xml". From the zip file, place the .swf and .fla and "ADDON-HELP.txt" files in your "XMLChanger" folder. See the "ADDON-HELP.txt" in this zip file to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


Chicago Template Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


New York Template Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


Exhibition Template (black or white) Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the .swf and .fla and "ADDON-HELP.txt" files in your "flash" folder. See the "ADDON-HELP.txt" in this zip file to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


SDL-Dwayne Template Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


SDL-Aluminum Template Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


Sounds Blue Template Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 10 images will be displayed.

In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the help.html in your main template folder. Place the .swf and .fla file in your "flash" folder. See the new "help.html" to setup your images. 10 images will be displayed.

If you DO have an "XML-Changer" folder Download Update (.zip)
In the "XML-Changer" folder, delete the "image-set.xml". From the zip file, place the .swf and .fla and "ADDON-HELP.txt" files in your "XML-Changer" folder. See the "ADDON-HELP.txt" in this zip file to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


(2010-) Studio C07 C08 C09
If you do NOT have an "XML-Changer" folder Download Update (.zip)
In the "flash" folder, delete the "image_changer.xml". From the zip file, place the .swf and .fla and "ADDON-HELP.txt" files in your "flash" folder. See the "ADDON-HELP.txt" in this zip file to setup your images. 8 images will be displayed.


Notes: After You Update, IE9 Cache Clearing Issues:
Once you update, if you are testing in IE9, be aware that this browser has serious "cache clearing" issues and you may not see the update for a few hours even if you empty your browser cache and reboot your computer. It is best to test the update using another web browser like Google Chrome or Safari.
